For week 7, I helped Couck with attendance and CNN Student News. They took the quiz that I had made for them. Since I had testing and was sick, I was not there as much as I would have liked to be. Most of them did well on the quiz, considering it was from the week before and they were simple trivia questions pulled from information provided by CNN Student News. Also, we have prepared for Couck being gone and the substitute taking his place.
Dear Couck,
First off, I would like to thank you for allowing me to have this experience with you. It was great to get a hands-on experience with teaching. Also, thank you for helping me through the things I had struggled with, and having a patient persona about the situation all together. This is part of what makes you such a good teacher. Since I have started the program, you have showed me that teaching is not always easy, and not always fun. Getting students to want to learn and having them all complete tasks around the same time is difficult due to everyone having different learning patters as well as different levels of motivation.
You have also taught me different ways to rearrange lesson plans to best fit the day and how fast the student's are moving. Also, you have showed me another way for students to learn while taking notes, and that they will do work based on how much or how little it seems to be. You help any student that needs it, and all you want back from them is respect. That is important because it forces people to learn that if you need something, kindness can get you a lot farther than demands. You have helped me realize that teaching is a good second option for me, if my first choice deems unwanted anymore.
Thank you for the experience and thank you for everything that you have taught me. It would really help if I could have a letter of recommendation from you. Thank you!
Hope all goes well and have a great summer,
Emma
