The article, “Job candidates getting tripped up by Facebook” was written by Wei Du. The article was about employers searching people’s names on Facebook. Many people have not gotten/ lost a job because of their digital footprint. Too many people put too much information online. 35-45% of employers check your name online.
I agree and disagree about this topic. I agree because I think people should not put all their stuff online. I disagree because that is your personal stuff. As long as it does not affect the way you present yourself at work, it shouldn’t matter. My aunt had taken photos when a group of our family went to the beach, and my cousin was in a bikini. My aunt said she would tag her and put them online, and my cousin got very upset. She is a physical education teacher, and she would have gotten fired if my aunt followed through with uploading them.
This information will benefit me in the future. I will always think about what I put online. I always make sure not to swear or say mean things about people online. I will probably make my accounts private, just to make sure no creepy people go onto them. This article applies to the chapter. This is because we are talking about our digital footprint in chapter 6.
